CCDC BSHM Students Sharpen Skills Through Intensive Food and Beverage Service Training and Barista Crash Course; Now Ready for the Food and Beverage Industry

Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) successfully conducted a 3-day intensive Food and Beverage Service training and a 3-day Barista Crash Course for Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students.

The training strengthened students’ competencies in food and beverage service operations, including grooming, table setting, sequence of service, order taking, guest interaction, and professional service etiquette. Through demonstrations, guided practice, role play, and simulations, students were exposed to real industry-based service scenarios.

Participants progressed from basic procedures to full-service simulations, demonstrating improved efficiency, communication skills, and proper handling of guest concerns. Continuous coaching emphasized discipline, teamwork, professionalism, and confidence in service delivery.

The Barista Crash Course further enhanced students’ practical skills in café operations, focusing on espresso extraction, milk texturing, and preparation of coffee-based beverages and mocktails. Café simulation activities allowed students to apply their skills in a realistic setting.

The combined training provided a holistic learning experience, bridging foundational service skills with modern beverage industry practices.

By the end of the program, students showed significant improvement in technical skills and service confidence, preparing them for real-world operations.

CCDC reaffirmed its commitment to competency-based, industry-aligned training, ensuring that BSHM students are prepared and ready for the Food and Beverage Industry.

The activity was organized and facilitated by Faye S. Aranca, who led the implementation of the training program and supervised the hands-on learning sessions throughout the duration of the activity.
