Learn to Save a Life: Empowering CICL Through Basic Emergency Response Training

On May 9, 2026, at Bahay-Pag-asa, Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet, the CCJE CP2 successfully conducted a community-based initiative entitled ā€œLearn to Save a Life.ā€ The activity was designed to provide Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) with essential basic life-saving skills that may be used in emergency situations.

The initiative aimed to address the need for practical and future-ready skills among the participants. By equipping them with basic knowledge in emergency response, the program encouraged responsibility, awareness, and preparedness, with the ultimate goal of enabling them to assist others when urgent situations arise.

During the one-day training session, participants were taught fundamental life-saving techniques, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), proper bandaging, and basic tie-knotting skills. The training emphasized hands-on practice, allowing participants to actively demonstrate and apply what they learned under proper guidance and supervision.

Beyond technical skills, the activity also fostered teamwork, cooperation, and active participation. Participants engaged in group exercises that helped them develop communication skills, mutual support, and confidence in working together during emergencies.

At the end of the program, participants were awarded Certificates of Participation in recognition of their involvement and successful completion of the training. Overall, the ā€œLearn to Save a Lifeā€ initiative proved to be a meaningful and impactful experience that enhanced the participants’ knowledge, strengthened their confidence, and prepared them with valuable skills that can help save lives in the future.
