The Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC), through its School Clinic Staff, Nursing Faculty, and Student Nurses, took part in a Medical Mission in Loacan, Itogon, Benguet, on September 26, 2026, in partnership with the Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO).
The activity aimed to bring accessible health services to community members and to promote awareness of preventive healthcare, early detection of health concerns, and healthy lifestyle practices.
The CCDC team helped deliver basic health services and community health activities. The School Clinic Staff and Nursing Faculty provided professional guidance and assistance, while the Student Nurses took an active part in various health-related activities under appropriate supervision. The experience allowed the students to apply their nursing knowledge and skills in a real community setting while showing compassion, professionalism, and commitment to service.
The partnership between BENECO and CCDC shows the value of collaboration among educational institutions, community organizations, and other stakeholders in addressing community health needs. Through this initiative, community members were encouraged to take part in health promotion, and community engagement was strengthened.
The mission was also a valuable learning experience for the Student Nurses. It highlighted the role of nurses beyond clinical settings, in community health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and service to underserved communities.
