The ICONS Awards 2023 recognized the high-impact initiatives of the Philippine Higher Educational Institutions (PHEIs) towards sustainability, commendable performance in recognized international rankings and ratings, trailblazing efforts to advance internationalizations, and valuable contributions to ASEAN’s regional prosperity.
“This recognition is an affirmation to our efforts to provide holistic learning experiences for the students, who are at the core center of all of our educational endeavors. This is the fruit of hard work and dedication of all stakeholders of the CCDC, especially our employees who are the backbone of the institution,” said CCDC President Sherry Junette Malaya-Tagle.
CCDC was awarded a Certificate of Commendation and a crystal trophy for its “enduring commitment towards internationalization of Philippine higher education and their exemplary performance” in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI).
In its first worldwide ranking attempt, CCDC was listed in the 101-200th Overall Ranking of WURI last May. It was also ranked 35th in the Ethical Value category and 51-100th in the Entrepreneurial Mindset category.
WURI evaluates HEIs real contributions to the society, highlighting creative and innovative approaches of universities’ research and educational programs.
“The Commission on Higher Education is proud of this institution for their notable contribution to the field of education,” stated the citation signed by CHED Chairperson Prospero De Vera III.
The awarding ceremony brought together representatives from world-ranked PHEIs, ambassadors, education attachés, and international and local education organizations.
“This ICONS award confirms that we are on the right track. We were also recently certified ISO 9001:2015, so we are indeed moving towards internationalization,” said Tagle.*
