Every Drop Counts:  Promoting Responsible and Conscious Water Usage on Campus

Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) actively promotes conscious and responsible water usage across the campus through encouraging students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to adopt water-saving habits in their daily activities. The institution recognizes that water conservation requires collective participation and continuous awareness to minimize unnecessary water consumption and protect valuable water resources.

To reinforce responsible water use, CCDC encourages the proper use of water facilities, turning off faucets when not in use, avoiding unnecessary water consumption, and immediately reporting leaking faucets, pipes, and other plumbing fixtures. Water conservation reminders and awareness messages are also promoted to encourage the campus community to make water-saving practices part of their everyday routines.

These awareness efforts are complemented by the institution’s water conservation infrastructure, including rainwater harvesting systems, water-efficient washbasins, waterless urinals, and low-flush water closets. Harvested rainwater is also utilized for toilet flushing, cleaning, and landscape maintenance, reducing reliance on groundwater for activities that do not require potable water.

Through continuous information dissemination, responsible water-use practices, and the provision of water-efficient facilities, CCDC fosters a culture of water conservation within the campus community. These initiatives demonstrate the institution’s commitment to sustainable resource management and the preservation of water for present and future generations.
