Three programs of Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) were recently granted Candidate Status, a step closer to full accreditation under the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU), a service organization that accredits or quality assures the academic programs of its member schools.
The certifications, issued by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP), upon the endorsement of the PAASCU Board of Trustees, granting the candidate status to the CCDC Elementary Education, Secondary Education, and Criminal Justice programs were formally received by the school on Monday, although the documents were issued on December 12 last year.
Candidate status is granted to schools who have undergone a preliminary visit and are certified by FAAP as capable of attaining accredited status within two years.
“This is another milestone for the CCDC and an affirmation of our dedication towards delivering quality education,” said CCDC President Sherry Junette Malaya-Tagle.
She said the school is currently preparing for the formal survey visit of the PAASCU accreditors which is expected to take place within the year.
The meticulous accreditation process involves the evaluation of the outcomes and results on areas covering governance and leadership, quality assurance, resource management, teaching-learning, student services, external relations, research and creative works.
Tagle said CCDC is also working on the application status for the Social Work, Nursing, and Midwifery programs.
Aside from the aforementioned programs, CCDC also offers junior and senior high school, and degree programs in accountancy; elementary and secondary education; technology and livelihood education; entrepreneurship; hospitality management; and office management.
The institution also offers masteral programs in education, business administration, and public administration, as well as juris doctor program.
Established in 1993, CCDC is celebrating its 30th founding anniversary on April.
