CCDC creates opportunities for knowledge exchange, business learning, and collaboration to strengthen local food enterprises.
Local farmers and food producers play an important role in sustaining the Cordillera’s food industry and community livelihoods. However, many small producers need greater access to business knowledge, product development skills, appropriate technology, and market opportunities to improve their products and expand their enterprises.
Through its College of Business Education and Administration (CBEA), Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) conducted activities during Consumers Welfare Month 2025, held from October 24 to 29 under the theme “Bida ang Konsyumer sa Bagong Pilipinas.” Entrepreneurship students showcased and sold their products at the campus Open Lounge, gaining practical experience in costing, pricing, packaging, customer engagement, and financial management.
On October 29, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) conducted a two-part workshop attended by 60 students, four CBEA faculty members, and two guests. The sessions covered product labeling, packaging, branding regulations, and product development.
Beyond student learning, the initiative highlights the importance of organizing events where local farmers, food producers, entrepreneurs, and government agencies can connect, exchange experiences, and transfer practical knowledge. Such activities provide opportunities to share expertise, learn improved production and marketing practices, and strengthen connections between educational institutions and local industries.
Through these collaborative learning activities, CCDC promotes an environment where knowledge and resources are shared, helping local farmers and food producers improve product quality, develop stronger enterprises, and access wider market opportunities.
