Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) promotes sustainable commuting by recognizing the importance of environmentally friendly transportation choices among its employees. Based on the Employee Commute Survey, 235 employees use public utility jeepneys and taxis, while 55 walk to work. Meanwhile, 21 use private cars, and seven commute by bicycle or motorcycle.
These findings highlight the role of public transportation and walking in reducing dependence on private vehicles. CCDC aims to build on these existing practices by encouraging employees to choose sustainable commuting options whenever possible.
Moving forward, the college can support these efforts through sustainable transportation awareness campaigns, carpooling initiatives, safe walking pathways, and bicycle parking facilities. By promoting responsible commuting, CCDC strengthens its commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, helping create a healthier, more accessible, and environmentally responsible campus community.
