The Research Office and the Community Extension and Services Office (CESO) of Cordillera Career Development College collaboratively launched Phase 1 of the CUBE Extension Program in Atok on February 10, 2026, in response to the priority needs identified during the recent community needs analysis.
ย
Among the most pressing concerns raised by the local government units of Atok was the need for updated and comprehensive barangay profiling to support evidence-based planning and program implementation. In line with this, CCDC was designated to assist Barangay Poblacion and Barangay Caliking in strengthening their community data systems and profiling mechanisms.
ย
The joint monitoring and coordination visit was conducted to assess the current status of records, validate existing data, and initiate groundwork for systematic barangay profiling. A courtesy call was also made to both barangay captains to formally present the objectives of the visit and reinforce collaborative partnership. Representing the Research Office was Corazon Ocden, while the CESO delegation included Bliss Bacacao, Kimberlyn Valdez, Jean Langan, Vergel Bayacsan, Vilma Mondero, Marivel Muรฑoz, and Ronalyn Aludos.
ย
The activity involved consultation meetings with barangay officials, review of available demographic and socio-economic records, and identification of data gaps necessary for comprehensive profiling. The team emphasized the importance of accurate community data in crafting responsive extension programs, aligning institutional initiatives with actual local needs.
ย
Barangay profiling serves as a foundational step in the CUBE Extension Program, as it enables the institution to design targeted interventions in education, health, livelihood, and social development. Through systematic data gathering and validation, the program aims to ensure that future phases are grounded in reliable community-based evidence.
ย
The collaborative effort between the Research Office and CESO underscores CCDCโ€™s integrated approach to extensionโ€”merging research-driven strategies with community engagement. The implementation of Phase 1 of the CUBE Extension Program reflects the institutionโ€™s continuing commitment to participatory development, data-informed decision-making, and strengthened partnerships with its adopted communities in Atok.
