CCDC shares internationalization journey to PH school leaders

Carrying the pride of the Cordillera beyond its borders, CCDC President Dr. Sherry Junette Malaya-Tagle shared CCDC’s internationalization journey, highlighting the institution’s milestones, strategies, and best practices that have contributed to its growing global recognition during the Filipino Leaders in Advancing International Reputation (FLAIR) Masterclass held in Tacloban City, Leyte on October 21 to 23, 2025.

This is upon the invitation of the CHED Regional VIII-Eastern Visayas led by Regional Director Dr. Maximo J. Aljibe and IZN Focal Person Catherine Iglesias. The resource speakers was led by CHED Regional Director Dr. Jimmy G. Catanes, initiator of the FLAIR Program, first launched in CAR and now adopted nationwide as a key initiative promoting internationalization among Philippine higher education institutions.

The masterclass gathered 40 leaders and representatives from state, local, and private universities and colleges across the region, all aiming to strengthen their internationalization initiatives.

In recent years, CCDC has made remarkable strides on the global stage, consistently earning a place in the World Universities Rankings for Innovation (WURI)—ranking 121st in 2023, 146th in 2024, and 124th in 2025.

For three consecutive years, CCDC has also remained the top higher education institution (HEI) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), a testament to its pursuit of excellence and innovation.

Through this engagement, Dr. Tagle and CCDC continue to champion internationalization as a meaningful path toward quality assurance and continuous improvement, inspiring more colleges and universities to open their doors to global collaboration.
