The first batch of the 4 year Midwifery Program under CMO no. 3, series of 2023, had their face-to-face orientation on the Standard Procedures of Benguet General Hospital, a government hospital, owned and operated by the Provincial Local Government of Benguet, last February 06, 2025.
According to the Dean of the College of Health Education (CHE) Marivel D. Muñoz and Midwifery Principal Ms. Marie Fe E. Kidatan, “This partnership between the CCDC- CHE and BeGH will provide opportunity for the midwifery interns to gain invaluable experience and hands-on training in the hospital’s various wards and special areas. Through this collaboration, interns will be equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies to deliver high-quality patient care, preparing them for successful careers in midwifery.
As part of the clinical practicum, interns will undergo a total of 408 hours this semester with supervision of the internship instructor in all the affiliating agencies of the school to meet the required number of hours as per the curriculum and to enhance their competencies.
The hands-on experience gained by 20 level II midwifery interns is a significant help to both the hospital staff and the communities they serve, as it enhances patient care, supports healthcare professionals in daily operations, and prepares students for real-world medical challenges.
“This apprenticeship is a great opportunity for us to apply our skills and make a real difference in patient care.” –CCDC Midwifery Students
