CCDC leads other Cordillera schools in 2025 WURI recognition

For three consecutive years, the Cordillera Career Development College led other universities in the Cordillera, as part of the top 400 global innovative universities under the 2025 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI).

CCDC has advanced to the 124th rank from its 146th rank in 2024, as announced during the 5th Annual Hanseatic League of University Conference on July 10, 2025 in Luce Auditorium, Silliman University, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

“This marks the third consecutive year that CCDC has secured a spot in the prestigious Top 101–150 Global Innovative Universities, and once again, we lead all schools in the Cordillera Administrative Region—a rare and outstanding achievement that reflects our unwavering dedication to innovation and excellence,” President Sherry Junette Tagle said.

CCDC has also earned the distinction in the three focus areas: 9th place in the industrial application, 12th in culture and values, and 20th in ethics and integrity.

The WURI ranking affirmed that CCDC has innovative projects or programs which emphasizes the application of industry-related education and research to generate tangible, real-world impacts, moving away from the conventional focus on academia-driven research and education.

Also, in culture and values, CCDC has programs that promote a shift towards industry and student-centered thinking, moving away from traditional university/professor-centric approaches. The school encourages the pursuit of social values alongside academic values, contributing positively to society.

Further, in ethics and integrity, these are innovative programs that emphasize the importance of researching and promoting ethics and integrity in education.

“As proud Admirals, we receive this global recognition with heartfelt gratitude and pride,” Tagle said.

The World University Rankings for Innovation is a global ranking system that evaluates universities based on innovativeness, rather than traditional academic metrics. Using 16 categories, it encompasses innovation targets and methods, offering a comprehensive measure of institutions’ creative contributions to societal advancement.

It was established to acknowledge institutions that contribute to society through creative and innovative approaches to research, education, and service.
