CCDC joins the 2025 Annual Student Congress

To equip education students for their upcoming teaching internships in the second semester of A.Y. 2024–2025, the Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators – Cordillera Administrative Region (PAFTE-CAR) conducted its Annual Student Congress. 

Forty-one students from Cordillera Career Development College joined the congress last January 17, 2025, at Benguet State University.

Students gained new insights through six key sessions focused on self-expression, teamwork, creativity, and community engagement through the series of sessions and topics in the congress. 

Among the resource speakers, Dr. Felina P. Espique, PAFTE Immediate Adviser opened with updates on CHED’s MATATAG agenda. 

Dr. Cecilia A. Mercado, Dean, School of Accountancy Management Computing and Information Studies at Saint Louis University – Baguio lectured on ICT integration and digital literacy. 

On the other hand, Dr. Jardson Onio of Benguet Division Office, Department of Education shared K–12 curriculum updates, while Dr. Cesar S. Martin of Camp 30, Elementary Department demonstrated multi-grade teaching strategies. 

Also, Dr. Joseph B. Quinto of Benguet State University emphasized communication and confidence, and Dr. Ramir S. Austria introduced tech tools for classroom assessment.

The sessions provided students with insights, strategies, and tools essential for success in today’s education landscape.

Other participating institutions included Saint Louis University, Ifugao State University, Kalinga State University, King’s College, Siloam College Inc., St. Tonins, Easter College, University of Baguio, and Benguet State University.
