CCDC Demonstrates Proficiency in the 2025 Adivay College Level Quiz Bee

The 2025 Adivay College Level Quiz Bee brought together students from various higher education institutions in Benguet as part of the celebration of the 125th Adivay Festival, themed “HEALTHIER Benguet: A Treasure to Relish, A Culture to Cherish.” Held on November 22, 2025, at the Ben Palispis Auditorium, the event showcased participants’ knowledge of Benguet’s history, culture, and arts.

With the proficient performance of CCDC Team 2—composed of Ruizton P. Walito, Michelle Ashley M. Rontas, and Rodney P. Ba-on from the College of Criminal Justice Education—the Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) secured second place in the 2025 4th Adivay Festival Quiz Bee. The team garnered a total of 34 points, finishing just two points behind this year’s champion, Benguet State University (Bokod Campus), which earned 36 points. Their achievement was recognized with a ₱9,000 cash prize, a plaque, and certificates of recognition, bringing pride to the institution and reflecting CCDC’s commitment to producing well-rounded, culturally rooted learners.

In addition to its winning team, CCDC also fielded two other teams. CCDC Team 1 was composed of Jesrey P. Kiligto, Ira Jephalyn L. Culliao, and Jenus C. Omalio from the College of Teacher Education. Meanwhile, CCDC Team 3 was made up of Jasper L. Aquisio and Earl Carlo K. Masing from the College of Health Education, along with Rickhmar P. Bayonao from the College of Teacher Education. Both teams received consolation prizes.

The students’ participation in this kind of competition underscores CCDC’s continued commitment to engaging students in community activities that boost their intellectual and social skills. Moreover, this engagement that highlighted Benguet’s history, culture, and arts is an avenue by which students may appreciate our time-honored social values and culture.

Ms. Shevene A. Laruan, their coach, expressed her pride, saying, “I am incredibly proud of our students for showing not only intelligence, but also dedication and teamwork. Their hard work reflects CCDC’s mission of nurturing learners who honor both excellence and culture.”
