CCDC Celebrates Outstanding Achievements at the 2025 Regional Oath-Taking Ceremony for Newly Registered Social Workers

The Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) – College of Social Work proudly joins the regional celebration of excellence and professional commitment as the 1st Regional Oath-Taking and Induction Ceremony for the newly registered social workers unfolds on November 21, 2025, in the historic city of Vigan, Ilocos Sur. This significant gathering honors the successful passers last September 2025 Licensure Examination for Social Workers (LESW), highlighting the passers from different provinces and municipalities including the 42 passers from the CCDC College of Social Work who were able to participate in the ceremony. It is a moment that marked not only the beginning of their professional journey but also the culmination of years of discipline, resilience, and heart for service.

This year stands as a defining milestone for CCDC, with the College of Social Work achieving an exceptional 98% passing rate among first-time takers, a feat that speaks volumes of the students’ dedication and the institution’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence. Even more remarkable is the recognition of Ms. Arlyn Guay, who secured Top 4 Nationwide, bringing immense pride and honor to the college and the Cordillera region. Her presence as the highest-ranking topnotcher attending the regional ceremony further elevates this occasion, as she delivered an inspiring message that resonated deeply with her fellow passers and guests.

Ms. Guay emphasized that being a social worker is more than a profession—it is a calling rooted in service, integrity, and compassion. She reminded her fellow passers that their true measure of success lies not in how high they rise but in how many people rise with them. She challenged the new social workers to be brave, to uphold dignity and justice, to speak truth even when it is difficult, and to stand firm for the vulnerable. Above all, she urged them to become the generation of social workers who rebuild trust, fight for fairness, and bring hope to communities that need it most.

Adding to the significance of this year’s ceremony is the attendance of Dean Melody Calpase-Ducat, Program Coordinator Kimberlyn Valdez, and faculty member Aelline G. Carame, who were invited by the Professional Regulation Commission–Professional Regulatory Board (PRC–PRB) for Social Workers. Their participation symbolizes the college’s steadfast partnership with professional institutions and reflects the collaborative and nurturing academic environment that has shaped the success of the recent passers.

The Social Work faculty likewise extend their commendation to the PASWI–Ilocos City Chapter for their exceptional efforts in organizing the event. They recognized the thoughtful and meaningful program arrangement, particularly the opportunity given to every passer to be individually called on stage for recognition and pinning. This gesture, they noted, made the ceremony deeply personal and memorable, allowing families and companions to proudly witness this once-in-a-lifetime milestone. It is an honor for CCDC to have this very meaningful engagement with PASWI in such a significant occasion.

Many alumni have expressed heartfelt appreciation for having their mentors witness this moment in person. For them, the presence of their faculty affirms a shared achievement—one born out of mutual perseverance, community spirit, and the strong mentorship culture within the College of Social Work. It is a moment that bridges the past and present, celebrating not just individual success but the collective triumph of an institution committed to producing compassionate, competent, and community-centered social workers.

As the newly registered social workers took their oath, they carried with them the values, training, and spirit instilled by CCDC—ready to serve communities, advocate for social justice, and uphold the dignity and well-being of the individuals and groups they will soon work with. The 2025 Oath-Taking Ceremony symbolizes as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when passion meets purpose, and when an institution wholeheartedly invests in shaping future professionals rooted in service.

With pride and gratitude, CCDC celebrates its graduates’ achievements and looks forward to the impact they will create in the communities they will soon serve. Their success is not just a reflection of personal triumph but a testament to the strength, unity, and enduring commitment of the CCDC College of Social Work in delivering quality education and services to students and stakeholders.
