CCDC Admirals Shined Bright in NYBL CAR Season 1

The Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC), as part of its sports program, participated in the National Youth Basketball League – Cordillera Administrative Region (NYBL CAR) Season 1. The NYBL program provides a structured platform for students to enhance their basketball skills while promoting discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. It supports holistic student development, which is one of CCDC’s missions, and serves as a pathway for aspiring athletes to compete at a higher level, both locally and nationally.

The opening games of the NYBL qualifying tournament were held at the CCDC Tupay-ya gym on August 23, 2025. The CCDC Admirals had four teams: Kids Admirals, Teen Admirals, Junior Admirals, and Senior Admirals, competing in four brackets: 13-under, 15-under, 17-under, and 19-under, respectively. There were three teams participating in the 13-under, 15-under, and 17-under brackets. The Senior Admirals won the 19-under bracket by default, as they were the sole team in that bracket. The elimination games followed a double round-robin format and took place from August 23-25. Both the Kids Admirals and Teen Admirals had four losses. The Junior Admirals, however, dominated the elimination round with four wins.

The Junior Admirals won the championship on August 31, with a commanding score of 80-34 against Saint Louis University (SLU). In the 17-under bracket, Ahmed Aduan was crowned the Season MVP, and Anthony Algas was the Finals MVP. Ahmed Aduan, Anthony Algas, and Eduard Pascual were all named to the Mythical 5. Marc Joseph Bal-ut was part of the Mythical 5 in the 15-under bracket, and Silson Tagle Jr. was also named to the Mythical 5 in the 13-under bracket. Coach Jaynard Elegino was awarded as the best coach.

Both the Junior and Senior Admirals teams will advance to the national level, which will be held in Cebu. The entire CCDC family congratulates all the players who dedicated their time and effort to represent the school. We take pride in this achievement.
