President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declares September 13, 2018, Thursday, as a special (non-working) day in the Cordillera Administrative Region which marks the commemoration of the 1986 “Sipat” Peace Talks thru Proclamation No. 575.
In Sept. 13, 1986, the Cordillera People’s Liberation Army (CPLA), led by Fr. Conrado Balweg, heeded the call for peace by the late President Corazon C. Aquino through the forging of a sipat or the peace agreement at the Mount Data Hotel in Bauko, Mountain Province.
