PRC Board of Criminology Inspects CCDC

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) – Professional Regulatory Board for Criminology (PRB-Crim) visited the Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) on November 25, 2025, to conduct a crucial inspection and monitoring of CCDC’s Criminology program. The inspection was personally conducted by PRB-Crim Chairperson, Honorable Ramil G. Gabao with PRC-CAR Representative, Ms. Zarah Mae I. Comom. This said inspection and monitoring is in accordance with the provisions of Republic Act No. 11131, also known as the “Philippine Criminology Profession Act of 2018” on the powers, functions, duties, and responsibilities of the PRB-Crim.

During the dialogue, Hon. Gabao took the time to recognize CCDC’s success in the recent Criminologists Licensure Examination (CLE), acknowledging the College for rejoining the group of “Top Performing Schools.” He stressed that this high standard must be maintained. He also provided valuable recommendations to the CCDC team for continued improvement, aiming to help the institution consistently produce professionally skilled criminologists. Hon. Gabao fostered a very informative discussion on the developmental thrusts of Criminology profession that gave insights on how CCDC may further enhance its curricular programs. The school administration expressed its support towards the Board’s initiatives for the Criminology profession through its commitment to continuously deliver quality education to students and align its developmental thrusts with such initiatives.

CCDC was represented by Dr. Sherry Junette M. Tagle, College President; Atty. Annabelle B. Gondales, Vice President for Administration; Atty. Abigail T. Bersamin, Vice President for Academics; Dr. Dennis M. Butag, Dean, College of Criminal Justice Education; Mr. Lourence B. Miguel, Assistant Dean, College of Criminal Justice Education; and CCJE faculty members.

Indeed, the visit is an act of collaboration and partnership between the PRC as a government regulatory body and CCDC to implement proactive measures to attain the goal of honing CCDC criminology students to be committed, competent, dignified, and civic oriented professionals in the multifaceted fields of criminology practice.
