Spirit of History, Heritage for the Youth: CCDC Celebrates History and Literary Month 2025

The Cordillera Career Development College Senior High School Department proudly celebrated its annual History and Literary Month 2025 with the theme “Diwa ng Kasaysayan, Kabihasnan sa Kabataan: Spirit of History, Heritage for the Youth.” The event, held on October 22, 2025, at the Tupay-ya Complex, brought together students, teachers, and staff for a full day of intellectual, cultural, and artistic activities.

The event was officially welcomed by Venerisa D. Culpita, Social Science teacher, who emphasized the importance of preserving Filipino heritage and nurturing students’ creativity through literature and history. The morning program featured a series of engaging contests and performances. Students showcased their knowledge during the Quiz Bee Competition facilitated by Sandra Canuto, Social Science Teacher.

The lively and colorful Parade of Nations brought the venue to life, as each section marched with pride, waving flags and showcasing cultural symbols that celebrated the beauty of unity amidst diversity. Energetic intermission numbers by students and the Dance Club added color and excitement to the morning events. The highlight of the session was the Historical Impersonation Contest, where students brought to life iconic figures from the past through dramatic performances.

In the afternoon session, participants continued to shine in various competitions. The Spelling Bee, facilitated by Levi T. Pokling, English teacher, and Spoken Poetry contests allowed students to demonstrate both linguistic skill and artistic expression. The Trashion Show of gods and goddesses, a creative fashion event using recyclable materials, underscored the importance of sustainability and artistry.

The program concluded with the Awarding of Winners, recognizing the outstanding performances and efforts of students across the day’s events. Rosaria M. Pes-oyen delivered the closing remarks, commending both participants and teachers for their dedication to making the celebration a success.

Hosted by Oshwald Matias and Fabiola Lucop, the event truly reflected CCDC’s commitment to fostering historical awareness, literary excellence, and cultural appreciation among its students. The 2025 History and Literary Month Celebration reminded everyone that the spirit of history and heritage continues to live on, inspiring the youth to honor the past while shaping the future.
