CCDC Professor Recognized by the Municipality of La Trinidad for Valuable Contribution to Strategic Development Planning

La Trinidad, Benguet — September 9, 2025

The Municipal Government of La Trinidad, Province of Benguet, through the Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Mr. Lourence Miguel, faculty member of the Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC), in recognition of his invaluable service and contribution to the municipality’s strategic planning initiatives.

Mr. Miguel was commended for presenting the research outputs of his students and for his dedicated role as research adviser to the class whose study provided valuable inputs to the Municipal Planning Team under the Land Use, Infrastructure, and Urbanism Sector. Their collective efforts formed part of the technical and research-based foundation for the Municipal Strategic Planning for the preparation of the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) 2026–2031).

The recognition was formally presented during the Municipal Strategic Planning Workshop held on September 9, 2025, at the Strawberry Valley Hotel and Restaurant, La Trinidad, Benguet. The certificate was signed by Engr. Vicente C. Perez Jr., Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, and Atty. Franco B. S. Wacnang Jr., Municipal Administrator.

This recognition underscores the continuing partnership between Cordillera Career Development College and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of La Trinidad in advancing evidence-based policymaking and sustainable development planning. The integration of academic research into municipal development processes exemplifies the college’s commitment to community engagement and the practical application of research for public service.

Mr. Miguel expressed his appreciation to the LGU for the acknowledgment and reaffirmed the academic community’s readiness to support local development initiatives. “This collaboration demonstrates how research and education can meaningfully contribute to policy formulation and local governance,” he stated.

The Comprehensive Development Plan 2026–2031 will serve as La Trinidad’s roadmap toward sustainable, inclusive, and well-coordinated growth, with inputs from both government planners and the academe.
