CCDC Welcomes Its 2025-2026 Student Government

As another school year begins, so does a new student government. The CCDC student government serves as the official voice and representative body for the entire student community. Its primary role is to act as a crucial link between the student body and the school administration, addressing student concerns, and advocating for their interests.

The CCDC student government is composed of a president, vice president, and four senators, for which all college students are required to vote. In addition, each department elects a governor and vice governor, while each program elects a mayor, vice mayor, and seven councilors.

The process began with the filing of candidacy from August 26 to September 1. The official list of candidates was posted on September 2, which kicked off a one-week campaign period. The Miting de Avance, a final campaign rally for candidates to present their platforms to their fellow students, took place on September 8 at the CCDC Tupayya Gym.

On election day, September 9, a higher turnout was recorded than the previous year, with 63% of the total college student population participating. Both online and in-person voting options were available from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., ensuring accessibility for all students. The inclusion of online voting was also in consideration of the 4th-year students who were on their internship, allowing them to still exercise their right to vote.

The election day was a success due to the diligent efforts of the outgoing student government officers. Jester M. Martin, the chairman of the election committee, and his vice-chairman, Berwin Rogelio A. Incio, facilitated the election process under the guidance of their advisor, Dennis D. Guiniguin. The CP1 students of the CCJE department also played a key role by helping out during the election period. This collaborative effort ensured a smooth and efficient voting experience for all students.

On September 12, a significant event took place as the newly elected student government officers of CCDC were officially sworn in. The oath-taking and turnover ceremony was a moment to both look forward to the future and reflect on the past year’s achievements.

The event served as an opportunity to reminisce and express gratitude to the outgoing student leaders, headed by Tzietel Jade D. Sacla, a fourth-year BS Secondary Education student. Their exceptional leadership throughout the past school year was recognized and celebrated. Their hard work and dedication have set a high standard and will undoubtedly continue to inspire the new officers as they step into their roles and responsibilities. The entire CCDC family extends its heartfelt thanks for their tremendous commitment.

Finally, CCDC congratulates all the newly elected officers. May they remain true to their promises and lead with integrity and passion. We wish them the best on this journey as they work to serve the CCDC student body and make a lasting, positive impact.
