The Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) Taekwondo Team set a high record, winning five gold and three silver medals at the 2nd One Taekwondo Championship Open on January 18, 2025.

CCDC dominated the Kyorugi event, securing four gold medals through the outstanding performances of Junior High School (JHS) student Markiesha P. Sinong (Grade 9), Senior High School (SHS) student Noren W. Bandao Jr. (Grade 12), and College students Jhonel K. Gawili (BS in Criminology 1), Kelly Jhae D. Kinisan (BS in Criminology 3), and Jerly L. Faed Jr. (BS in Criminology 3).

Meanwhile, Lunisa Calapia (SHS), AJ Munoz (SHS), and Kitson Fermin (BS in Criminology) contributed to the team’s success by earning silver medals in their respective divisions.

The team’s impressive performance reflects CCDC’s commitment to developing skilled and competitive athletes in taekwondo with the help of their coach, Phibert P. Juanito.

“Seeing each player truly learn and execute the techniques we’ve practiced is already a winning moment for me,” said Coach Phibert.
