THE INAUGURAL VIRTUAL FOREIGN internship program between Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) and the Education Centre of Australia (ECA) was showcased through a testimonial speech in the recent FLAIR Kuminwani Masterclass at the SHS Hall of CCDC on August 3.

Accountancy student Justine Joy Abideo Monang delivered a brief talk about the four-weeklong Project-Based Experiential Learning (PBEL) to 145 participants comprised of executives, middle managers, and faculty members of higher education institutions (HEIs) in the Cordillera region and Pangasinan province.

CCDC is the first tertiary institution outside Manila to participate in the virtual internship program with ECA, the leading higher education provider in the South Pacific region.

INTERNATIONAL. Justine Joy Abideo Monang shared her experiences and learnings on the Project-Based Experiential Learning virtual internship program to various college and university representatives from the Cordillera region.

Monang related her experiences under the foreign program which allowed local students to interact and work with other international students remotely through an online platform.

Twenty-five interns, including Monang, teamed up with university students from other countries in performing tasks through Australia-based and international companies.

The interns are enrolled in bachelor’s degrees in Accountancy, Entrepreneurship, Secondary Education, and Criminology, while others under masteral programs in Business Administration, and Public Administration.

“This (internship) program provided incredible learning and gave me a thorough understanding of how startups operate, overcoming current challenges, and growing the organization,” she said.

Monang was conferred a Silver Hat Award for being a high academic achiever during their graduation rites on Aug. 2 at the Benguet Provincial Capitol. The graduates will be assisted in acquiring work and job opportunities in both local and ECA-partner companies based abroad.

“The program also helped me enhance my personal career and discover new career paths and prospects,” Monang added.

PARTNERSHIPS. ECA representative Gerard Felipe showcased the virtual internship program which allowed local students to undergo foreign training on a remote set-up.

Monang delivered her speech following a presentation of the internship program by Sydney-based ECA representative Gerard Felipe, who initiated and forged the partnership ties with CCDC.
