The College of Teacher Education (CTE), through its Extension services, recently conducted a Parents Orientation to officially launch Project BALLASIW, a school-based extension initiative designed to provide additional literacy and learning support. The program addresses foundational learning gaps through tailored academic interventions and support aimed at boosting literacy and development. The initiative directly aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
During the orientation, Calvin Clark Dolo, the CTE Extension Focal Person outlined the program’s operational structure, providing parents and guardians with essential details regarding the session schedules, classroom assignments, and tutorial session guidelines. Learners will receive age-appropriate, focused tutorials from CTE faculty and college students. The focal person also emphasized the crucial role of parental involvement in ensuring long-term academic success.
