Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC), through its Entrepreneurship Center, promotes sustainable food purchasing by prioritizing products from local entrepreneurs, farmers, and community producers. Products such as honey, coffee, atsara, chips, vinegar, chili paste and others are made available for purchase and sale, providing local producers with market opportunities while encouraging consumers to support locally made goods.
These locally produced items are also used as tokens and giveaways for guests during school programs and activities, further promoting local products and providing greater market exposure for community entrepreneurs.
The Entrepreneurship Center also sources vegetables from local suppliers for its catering services, helping support farmers and strengthen the local food supply chain. By prioritizing fresh, locally available produce and sustainable products, CCDC promotes responsible purchasing, supports community livelihoods, and encourages sustainable business practices.
Furthermore, through Admirals Farm Park, the college extends its support to local artisans, farmers, and community-based enterprises through the purchase of locally crafted wood sculptures, keychains, and fresh agricultural produce such as vegetables, coffee. These initiatives help promote Cordilleran craftsmanship, preserve local culture, and provide additional market opportunities for small-scale producers.
Through these efforts, CCDC strengthens partnerships with local producers, creates opportunities for small enterprises, and integrates sustainable sourcing into its daily operations and institutional activities. More than simply purchasing local products, the college demonstrates its commitment to community empowerment, local economic development, and sustainability.
