CCDC CP2 Interns Conduct Community Waiting Shed Revitalization Project to Promote Cleanliness and Public Comfort

On May 11, 2026, the CP2 Interns successfully conducted Project Linis-Silungan in Pico, Longlong, Puguis. The project aimed to address the poor condition and lack of maintenance of the community waiting shed, which had become uncomfortable and unsafe for commuters due to broken seats, faded paint, damaged roofs, and littered surroundings.

The waiting shed, located beside a garbage disposal area, often suffered from poor sanitation and unpleasant conditions. Recognizing the importance of providing commuters with a clean, safe, and comfortable waiting area, the interns initiated a community-based project focused on cleanliness, beautification, and public awareness.

The group carried out general cleaning activities, including weeding and clearing the surroundings of the waiting shed. They also repainted the structure, restored old road signs, and created new signage using available materials. Informative signs such as “No Smoking” and “No Spitting of Momma” were installed to encourage discipline, cleanliness, and proper behavior among commuters.

Through the project, the waiting shed became more attractive, welcoming, and convenient for students, workers, and other members of the community who use the area daily. The activity also promoted environmental awareness, responsibility, and community pride.

The successful implementation of Project Linis-Silungan was made possible through the teamwork, cooperation, and dedication of the CP2 Interns and community members. The participants learned the importance of collaboration, resourcefulness, and initiative, especially when working with limited materials and resources.
